National Research Platform

The National Research Platform (NRP) is a partnership of more than 50 institutions. NRP is led by researchers and cyberinfrastructure professionals at the San Diego Supercomputer Center and the University of California San Diego. This work is supported in part by National Science Foundation under Grant No. (CNS-1730158, ACI-1540112, ACI-1541349, OAC-1826967, OAC-2112167, CNS-2100237, CNS-2120019).

NRP encompasses a suite of initiatives aimed at facilitating decentralized growth and scalability. At its core, lies Nautilus, a robust distributed cluster comprising approximately 300 nodes. This nationally deployed system integrates CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs across two distinct subsystems tailored for various data science, simulation, and AI tasks. Accessible through a federated network, Nautilus serves as the primary computational, storage, and networking resource for NRP's operations.

In partnership with the Sun Corridor Network, two nodes have been made available to all researchers, students, and support staff. These nodes are housed at the Iron Mountain Data Center.
